I'm an instructor of the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony. I quit my job at a major electronics company and went to Australia to study English. After coming back to Japan, I worked as an English teacher before landing a job at a publisher of language educational materials. Since then, I have been involved in a number of language education projects targeting both individuals and entities. While studying abroad, I renewed my appreciation of my own country and started to actively expose myself to traditional Japanese culture, which led me to become fascinated by Sado, the art of tea ceremony. I trained vigorously to become a certified instructor of the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony, and opened a teahouse called “Jikyu-an” with an aim to introduce many people to the rich world of Sado that best represents Japanese culture and arts. Today, I'm making it my mission to teach international visitors the etiquette of Sado and show them the beauty of the time-honored tradition through classes held at my teahouse as well as Japanese language schools.

・The session will be conducted either Japanese or English depending on your preference.
・If you have a pair of white socks, please bring them with you.
・All children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
・Please make sure to always communicate through wasabijp. In order to protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the wasabijp website.
・If you feel unwell or are under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrival, you will not be able to join our experience.
・Please make sure to arrive on time. If you arrive late, you may not be able to join us, as the end time cannot be extended to make up for late arrivals.
